DECK ASSEMBLY   deck profiles
Financing Available Standard Decking:
Extruded 6061 T-6 heat-treated aluminum alloy slats that are extended full length of floor.

Standard Slat Widths:
Available with 3-5/8" or 3-7/8" or 4" wide slats.

Overall Deck Width/Length:
Specify overall deck width as wide as the inside dimension of the trailer allows. Most commonly used widths are 82", 87-3/4" or 93-3/4". Common deck lengths are anything up to 53'.

Floor Thickness:
1/4 or 3/8" or greater thick decks are best suited for the solid waste industry to accommodate top loading of transfer trailers, compactor loading and high speed unloading at landfill sites. 1/8" or 3/16" thick decks are best for lighter duty applications such as agriculture or wood products.

Leak-Resistant Decking Option:
This overlapping slat design forms a continuous floor surface covering the vertical areas between slats that allow material to sift through; It locks out debris and grit while providing full complete floor-length protection for the slat seals. Slats are available in 3-5/8", 3-7/8" and 4” widths or optional 7-1/2" width for special applications. The minimum thickness of each slat is 1/4" with full length seal covering wear strips creating a full 7/8" thickness at overlap. The overlaps form impact absorbing ridges for added durability in direct dump impact and forklift operations. Leak-resistant slats fit the standard HALLCO floor bearing.

Sub-Deck:
Hallco subdeck is available in steel or aluminum tubing or profile, 2" wide x 1" high x .065" minimum thickness. The aluminum profile is used for rear loaded trailers and lighter duty top loaded applications where weight savings are necessary. HALLCO'S two inch wide subdeck gives the bearings and slats ample support allowing the deck slats to move easily without rocking side to side under the load.

Deck Bearings:
Our low friction, HDPE (high density polyethylene) bearings are supplied at a minimum rate of 30 per linear foot for 24-slat systems. They are available in five different sizes to accommodate different crossmember flange widths. The bearings are designed to straddle the subdeck and the trailer cross member. The bearing legs snap into place underneath each side of the subdeck and to the front and rear of the trailer cross members. The bearing lock-down "wings" snap into place just above the bottom legs of the deck slats, resisting slat lift and providing a precise, secure fit.

Options

Wear Plates:

Optional wear plates installed over slats at discharge end of deck; recommended
for refuse applications. Recommend minimum of two feet.

Rear Hold Down Block:
Optional rear hold down block, manufactured from UHMW material, can be mounted at discharge end of trailer. The block helps hold rear slats in place and further strengthens the bearing surface that gets the most wear.
